Jonathan Stodel began his career in aviation in 1989 when he earned his private pilot's license. He then went to Fraser Valley College and completed a two year college diploma program in aviation that included getting his commercial pilot's license, multi-engine & instrument rating as well as an instructors rating.
After college he spent a year and a half flying as an instructor as well as doing some charter work. A slow economy resulted in a change of career path which lead back to school for general electronics certificate and another two year diploma in aviation electronics from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
After graduation he worked at Innotech Aviation, a medium sized repair and overhaul facility for corporate jets in Vancouver. Here he completed his apprenticeship and became a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer (AME).
During the five years spent at this company he progressed into the engineering department where he was involved with the design, certification and installation of many different types of avionics systems.
