Before joining Microsoft, Kerem co-founded a Vancouver based software company called NCompass Labs Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft in 2001.
Kerem joined Microsoft after the acquisition and shipped a Microsoft-branded version of their flagship product called Microsoft Content Management Server 2002. In the process of starting up NCompass Labs, he was also the brainchild behind the first ActiveX control enabled web browser, long before the term ActiveX was coined by Microsoft.
