February 20, 2007 - Avcorp Industries announced that it has entered into an agreement to retain Mark van Rooij as its new Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2007, to work closely together as one team with President, Paul Kalil.
Mr. van Rooij is currently Executive Vice President of Stork Fokker based in the Netherlands. Marcus van Rooij has been with Stork for over 20 years. Mr. van Rooij is a mechanical engineer and a member of the Board of Management of Stork Fokker, an aerostructures and special products company with over $400 million CDN in revenue and 1900 employees.
"We are confident that we have the right leadership team to move the company to the next level," stated Michael Scholz, Chairman. "The addition of Mr. van Rooij will provide us with valuable operational and international aerospace experience to assist us during our next stage of growth."

David is the Founder of Air Time Canada. He conducts or supervises most of the flights, teaches most of the ground school, and makes the budget decisions. David, of course, has a day job and a family of his own to care for - so please understand if he doesn't always return your calls right away.
For the last 12 years I've been running a non-profit organization in Delta called Air Time Canada. We offer a free Aviation Camp where kids (and adults) learn how to co-pilot an airplane and get a chance to try it out for real. It's completely free, in that we cover the cost of the ground school, food, flights, fuel, instructors, etc. Participants do have to pay for their own classroom supplies.
