Mr. Anthony R. Guglielmin is Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Ballard Power Systems Inc. Mr. Guglielmin was most recently CFO at Canada Line Rapid Transit Inc., which planned and constructed a $2 billion rapid transit system in metropolitan Vancouver.
Before then, Mr. Guglielmin served as Corporate Treasurer at BC Hydro and in a series of VP-level financial leadership roles at Finning International. Mr. Guglielmin is a Chartered Financial Analyst with BA and MBA degrees from McGill University in Montreal.

Christopher Guzy joined Ballard as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in February 2005. In January 2008, Dr. Guzy took on the additional role of Vice President of Operations. Dr. Guzy's areas of responsibility include worldwide operations, technology research and development and product development.
Immediately prior to joining Ballard, Dr. Guzy was General Manager of GE Healthcare's product development and supply chain operations in Hungary from 2001 to 2005.
He also held a number of other senior technology and product development leadership positions in GE's plastics, lighting, and appliance business units during his 17 years at General Electric in the United States and Europe.
From 1999 to 2001, Dr. Guzy served as Global General Manager of Linear Fluorescent Technology and Vice President and Director of Quality and Technology, Europe for GE Lighting. Prior to joining GE, he led a process development section at Nestlé in Switzerland.
Dr. Guzy began his career as Station Director of the School of Chemical Engineering Practice and Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1983 to 1986.
He holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and a Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico

John Sheridan was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer on February 22, 2006 having been in the role on an interim basis since October 12, 2005. He was previously Chair of the Board (June, 2004 to February 22, 2006), and has been a director since 2001.
He is presently working in AFCC Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corp.; Dantherm Power; Premier's Technology Council; Canadian Hydrogen Fuel Cells Association. He has been with Aliant Inc.; Bell Canada, Bell Actimedia, Bell Distribution, Bell Express Vu, Bell Mobility, Bell West, Bell Sygma UK Ltd; Encom Cable TV & Telecommunications, plc; Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.; MTS Communications Inc.; Photowatt Technologies; Sun Media Corp. Ltd.; NewPage Corporation; BC Hydrogen Highway.
Mr. Sheridan is a prominent leader in Canada's business community with a strong track record of success in diverse challenges. Over the course of his twenty-one year career with Bell Canada, he rose to high impact officer roles including Vice President of Sales and Service, Group Vice President of Business Development, and President and Chief Operating Officer.
In between his positions within Bell Canada, Mr. Sheridan joined Encom Cable TV as CEO, and led the growth of the fully integrated telecommunications company. He was recognized as an innovative leader in the industry and elected Vice-Chairman of the UK Cable Communication Association in 1994.
Mr. Sheridan has extensive experience in corporate governance, as a director, committee chair and board chair of numerous companies in Canada, the USA, and the UK. He currently serves as a director on the board of NewPage Corporation, the leading US coated paper company and most recently was appointed director to the board of Photowatt Technologies, a developer of solar technology and manufacturer of solar products. Photowatt Technologies is an affiliate of ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc.
Mr. Sheridan holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University's School of Business and Economics, and a Master of Arts in Economics from Queens University. He has also completed Executive Development Programs at Western, Queen's and University of Southern California.

Dr. -INg. Andreas Truckenbrodt serves as an Advisor of Element Energy, Inc. Dr. -INg. Truckenbrodt serves as Chief Executive Officer of Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation. Dr. -INg. Truckenbrodt serves as the Chairman of the management board of Ballard AG, Germany. He is responsible for Ballards' Transportation Division and Nabern location.
He joined Ballard in November 2001. He served as Director of Advanced Vehicle Engineering for Hybrid Development Center of Daimler Chrysler. Prior to Daimler Chrysler, Dr. -INg. Truckenbrodt served as Managing Director of Daewoo Motor Engineering GmbH and responsible for building up a German Technical Center for the Korean headquarters.
Prior to Daewoo, he was in charge of experimental engineering with BMW Rolls Royce, a German-British aeroengine manufacturer. Prior to this, he served as the Head of Projects at BMW Technik and responsible for design and development of specials cars and components.
Dr. -INg. Truckenbrodt has BS in Mechanical Engineering / Aeronautical Engineering and received his "Dr.-Ing" in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University Munich, Germany.

Dr. Peter Borwein is the founding Project Leader and currently an Executive Co-Director of The IRMACS Centre. He is a Burnaby Mountain Chair at Simon Fraser University and has been a professor in the Mathematics Department since 1993 when he moved from Dalhousie University. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Computing Science. His research interests span various aspects of mathematics and computer science, health and criminology modelling and visualization.

September 29, 2008 - Tammy Mullarky has joined Tekmira effective immediately and will have responsibility for strategic planning and business development including securing additional licensing and collaborative research and development agreements for Tekmira's technology.
Ms. Mullarky joined Tekmira from Targeted Growth, Inc. where as Senior Vice President she was responsible for business functions including business development, intellectual property and finance. Prior to Targeted Growth, Ms. Mullarky was a senior executive at Epigenomics, AG where she completed a $100 million diagnostics partnership.
Ms. Mullarky also has experience as a venture capital partner and was a founder and senior executive at AnorMed Inc. Before AnorMed, she was a member of the corporate mergers and acquisitions team for F. Hoffmann- La Roche. Ms. Mullarky has a M.A. in Science Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Chemistry from Whitman College.

Dr. Mark Murray has led Protiva since its inception in the summer of 2000. Dr. Murray has over 25 years of experience in both the R&D and business development facets of the biotechnology industry.
He has held senior management positions at ZymoGenetics and Xcyte Therapies prior to joining Protiva. Since entering the biotechnology industry he has successfully completed numerous and varied partnering deals, directed successful product development programs, been responsible for strategic planning programs, raised financing and executed extensive business development initiatives.
During his R&D career, Dr. Murray worked extensively on three programs that resulted in FDA approved drugs, including the first growth factor protein approved for human use, a program he led for several years.
Dr. Murray obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon Health Sciences University and was a Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell post-doctoral research fellow for three years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Lutwyche joined Tekmira's subsidiary company, Protiva Biotherapeutics Inc., in February 2008, and has responsibility for manufacturing, process development and quality control for all Tekmira product candidates as well as supporting Tekmira's collaborative partners as they advance products based on Tekmira's technology.
Tekmira expects three siRNA product candidates using the company's SNALP delivery technology will be in clinical development in 2009.
Dr. Lutwyche joined Tekmira from QLT Inc., where he was employed for ten years, most recently as Director, Pharmaceutical Development. During his tenure at QLT, Dr. Lutwyche contributed to the development and commercialization of Visudyne as well as leading manufacturing and chemistry efforts for numerous preclinical and clinical stage products.
Prior to QLT, he was a research scientist at Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation working with lipid-based formulations of nucleic acids and antibiotics. Dr. Lutwyche holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia.

Marketing Management instructor Tracey Renzullo presented recently at a Vancouver Board of Trade “Lunch, Learn and Network" session sponsored by the School of Business.
Tracey spoke on connecting and engaging with consumers through social media in a talk called “Monetizing Your Website." She shared insight on moving the social conversation to a business' website, ultimately increasing traffic, sales and loyalty, and on how to use mobile marketing tactics to drive traffic and sales.
Tracey has developed, led and managed marketing campaigns across Canada in her senior marketing roles at Industrial Alliance Pacific and Seaboard. Tracey's recent focus has been in the area of Digital Marketing, with special emphasis in Social Media Marketing and Search Marketing. Tracey actively consults small to medium sized businesses in these high growth areas.
This working mother of three children is also a full-time instructor in the BCIT's School of Business where she has developed and taught courses in Internet Marketing, Direct Marketing, Financial Services Marketing, Marketing Analysis, and Marketing Communications Strategy. Tracey is a UBC Honours Commerce Graduate and lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
