April 16, 2008 - Photon Control announced the appointment to its Board of Michael Weston, the CEO of CUBE Global Storage Ltd.
Michael Weston is the founder of CUBE, a data and physical asset storage company located in Victoria, British Columbia, serving a wide range of sectors including governments, universities, hotels, banks, private collectors and small-to-large businesses primarily in North America but with international clients as well. Cube has been in business for more than 25 years.
He is also the owner of the Milwest Centre in Victoria, a post disaster facility with institutional clients whose requirements for business continuance are mission-critical and so are housed in what has been described as "the safest building in British Columbia".
Mr. Weston is a leader focussed on long-term strategy and committed to leading edge business practices and stewardship. He is finishing up a four-year term on the board of directors for VIATeC (Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre), which pumps $1.7 billion into the local economy, was asked to sit as a director for the Greater Victoria Development Agency and is a member of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.

Christopher Guzy joined Ballard as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in February 2005. In January 2008, Dr. Guzy took on the additional role of Vice President of Operations. Dr. Guzy's areas of responsibility include worldwide operations, technology research and development and product development.
Immediately prior to joining Ballard, Dr. Guzy was General Manager of GE Healthcare's product development and supply chain operations in Hungary from 2001 to 2005.
He also held a number of other senior technology and product development leadership positions in GE's plastics, lighting, and appliance business units during his 17 years at General Electric in the United States and Europe.
From 1999 to 2001, Dr. Guzy served as Global General Manager of Linear Fluorescent Technology and Vice President and Director of Quality and Technology, Europe for GE Lighting. Prior to joining GE, he led a process development section at Nestlé in Switzerland.
Dr. Guzy began his career as Station Director of the School of Chemical Engineering Practice and Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1983 to 1986.
He holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and a Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico

John brings a wealth of experience in general management, engineering, operations, manufacturing, logistics, purchasing, supply chain and order management. Over the years, John has developed a strong continuous improvement mindset.

John also believes that employees deliver great results when empowered by good leadership. Most recently, John was GM of Global Operations for Kodak Graphic Communications Canada.
At Kodak, John was responsible for the Operations of the Worldwide Enterprise Solutions group and the Vancouver site that delivered a wide range of electro-mechanical devices for the Printing Industry. Previous to this, John worked for Celestica and BCL Magnetics (a division of Tempel Steel) in various leadership capacities.
He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Management, and an MBA from McMaster University. Charles Stone was appointed Vice President, Research and Development in December 2002. Dr. Stone's responsibilities include research & development, intellectual property, and ensuring the strategic alignment of technology development to product development.
Dr. Stone joined Ballard Power Systems as a research scientist in 1990. Since that time, he has held a number of progressively senior positions within the company.
Dr. Stone holds a Bachelor of Science (Hon.) degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, Scotland, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He has also held Post Doctoral Fellowships at the University of Geneva in Switzerland and at the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
