Mark is responsible for Spectrum's product planning, positioning and market leadership. He began working in communications in 1988 as a software designer for Bell-Northern Research, and has since held many roles in product development, delivery and marketing.

Immediately prior to joining Spectrum in 2001, he was Director of Switch Products in the Wireless Messaging Group for Glenayre, Inc. Mark received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.
He has been a licensed professional engineer since 1991.

Douglas Atterbury oversees all aspects of Engineering including technical support and systems integration, and is responsible for driving the architecture, design and development of Spectrum's software reconfigurable products.

Douglas Atterbury joined Spectrum in June 2006 as Director, Engineering. Prior to joining Spectrum, Mr. Atterbury spent more than 20 years developing electronic warfare systems and commercial telecommunications products. H

e has held senior positions at Grintek Electronics, Glenayre Electronics and Sierra Wireless. January 9, 2009 - Spectrum Signal Processing by Vecima, a part of Vecima Networks Inc. announced the appointment of Douglas Fast as President of Spectrum. In this role, Mr. Fast will develop, manage, and execute the overall strategy for Spectrum, and will provide essential hands-on technical and business leadership throughout the organization.

"A key part of Vecima's growth strategy is to maximize the value of Vecima's acquired assets and diverse product offering; in Spectrum's case, our goal is to find broader commercial opportunities for its technology," said Dr. Surinder Kumar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vecima Networks Inc. "With his extensive background in reconfigurable communications systems, complemented by his strong leadership skills, I feel Douglas is well equipped to succeed in this role. We expect his strong track record of contributing to the growth of Vecima to continue as he works to drive improvements at Spectrum."

"Our ongoing focus is to find new and profitable ways to commercialize Spectrum's substantial investment in advanced software defined radio solutions to create a successful and growing company," said Douglas Fast. "I have worked closely with Spectrum since the acquisition and am excited by the opportunity provided by this expanded role. Under my leadership, Spectrum will continue to focus and invest in its current defense and satellite communications markets, while exploring an expanded range of opportunities in adjacent markets."

Prior to joining Spectrum, Mr. Fast was Executive Vice President of Spectrum's parent company, Vecima Networks Inc. During his 15 years at Vecima, Mr. Fast was instrumental in driving the widespread adoption of software and FPGA technology throughout Vecima's product base, and was the key architect of a number of Vecima's most successful products including its line up of QAM modulator modules, as well as its Vistalynx Edge QAM and Cablevista Edge Decoder products. As part of his executive role, Mr. Fast was involved in engineering leadership, organizational strategy, operations, and M&A activities, and was significantly involved in the acquisition of Spectrum Signal Processing, Inc. in May 2007.

Mr. Fast holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (Digital Communications) from the University of Saskatchewan.
