Betsabeh joined MITACS in May of 2008. She obtained her honours Bachelors degree in physics and in biochemistry with a minor in mathematics from the University of Victoria and completed a Masters in Biomedical Engineering with a sub-specialization in Technology Management from UBC in 2008.
Prior to MITACS, Betsabeh worked in business development for Boreal Genomics, a biotechnology company developing novel biophysics technology.

Samina joined MITACS in April 2008.
She received her BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. After graduation, she took a position for several months with ABB in Sweden to broaden her international scope and experience.
She received her MASc from UBC, working on a project designed to extract motor movement from single-trial EEG signals with the ultimate goal of designing a man-machine interface to help severely disabled individuals.
Subsequently, she spent several years working at Spectrum Signal Processing as a Product Marketing Engineer/Product Manager where she liaised with both the Engineering and Sales teams to develop product specifications, roadmaps, demos and competitive market analysis for their consumer line of Digital Signal Processing products.

Burnaby, May 12, 2010 - BC Milk Producers Association is pleased to welcome Dr. Rehanni Khaseipoul, DVM, as the new Director of Communication and Planning.
Rehanni studied Animal Science at UBC and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. For several years she ran her own veterinary animal hospital in Port Moody before joining the Canadian Food Inspection Service (CFIA).
Rehanni has received media and crisis management training and was deeply involved in dealing with the avian flu outbreak. She was the Veterinarian in Charge of Pitt Meadows Meats and was the Western Veterinary Disease Control Specialist for BC and Alberta. For the past two years Rehanni returned to a limited public practice.
Rehanni is looking forward to applying her knowledge, experience and communication skills to advance and grow the BC dairy industry.

Mark was elected as CUPE BC's fulltime Secretary-Treasurer in 2005.
Prior to that he served on the CUPE BC executive board for 12 years in various capacities, including six years as a General Vice-President. A member since 1984, Mark was the president of CUPE Local 498, Port Coquitlam Municipal Employees for 15 years.
Mark chaired numerous CUPE BC committees prior to being elected as Secretary-Treasurer notably the Political Action Committee for eight years. He also chaired the Municipal Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Universities Committee and the Young Workers Task Force. Mark also currently serves on the CUPE BC Strong Communities Working Group.
Mark is on the CUPE National Executive Board representing British Columbia as a Regional Vice-President and was the first chair of the CUPE National Political Action Committee and is currently the National Union's Liaison to the Global Justice Committee. He also represents CUPE on the BC Federation of Labour Executive Council. He is also a member of the United Way Labour Committee.
