Walid Salman earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut in 1983. After this, he worked for four years as a field engineer in the construction of petrochemical and industrial facilities. He subsequently completed his graduate studies at the University of Toronto earning a Master of Applied Science Degree in Structural Engineering in 1990 and a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in 1994. Walid's research work has been published in the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, The Structural Stability Research Council Proceedings of the International Conference on the Behavior of Offshore Structures.

Prior to joining Krahn Engineering in 1998, Walid worked as a structural engineer with Morrison Hersfield in Toronto, Ontario and URS Greiner in Washington, DC. Upon joining Krahn Engineering, Walid developed the firm's tilt-up panel lifting and bracing software.

Walid is a Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Ontario and the state of Washington.

Calvin Schmitke joined Krahn Engineering in 1996. He is responsible for managing the engineering services provided by Krahn's Abbotsford office. Calvin obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1982 and a Master of Science Degree (Structural Engineering) in 1984, each from the University of Alberta. His research in structural steel design was published in the Structural Stability Research Council Proceedings and the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering.

Prior to joining Krahn Engineering, Calvin gained experience designing buildings and communication structures in the Toronto area while working for Dowdell Pal Ellis & Associates and Morrison Hershfield Ltd.
